Ouch!

January 31, 2013

Image.aspxThere are so many inspiring videos on YouTube, clips in which kids effortlessly achieve their goals, like riding mountain bike trails for the first time or overcoming their fear of that first big ski jump. This is not one of those videos. This is an important lesson, kids: If at first you don’t succeed, make sure your dad isn’t filming it.

Hockey’s Back!

January 7, 2013

indexHockey’s back! Dallas Stars will have a season after owners, players agree
The Dallas Stars will have a season.

After six long months of negotiations, it took one extremely long night to get the NHL out of the boardroom and back on the ice.

A tentative deal to end the 113-day NHL lockout was reached early Sunday morning following a marathon 16-hour negotiating session.

“We have reached an agreement on the framework of a new collective bargaining agreement, the details of which need to be put to paper,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman told a news conference. “We’ve got to dot a lot of i’s and cross a lot of t’s. There’s still a lot of work to be done but the basic framework of the deal has been agreed upon.”
